President Donald Trump admitted today that he made mistakes when he originally put together his Cabinet.Trump said at an event that 'not all of my choices were good' as he complimented two Cabinet secretaries who were traveling with him. The remark at a tax roundtable drew laughter.Trump also joked at the event about firing his newly-appointed National Security Advisor John Bolton, who was also in the room and received a standing ovation after the president lauded him.Trump said he was 'a little jealous' of Bolton's popularity and jokingly told attendees of the Florida roundtable, 'That means the end of this job.'Trump took turns praising his favored advisors at the event, name-checking Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin first.'Great choices,' Trump said. 'Not all of my choices were good, but they were great ones.'Trump later asked Larry Kudlow, who recently took on the role of chief economic advisor to the president, to stand up.'He said the economy is entering the greatest boom in many decades. In other words, it's now at the phase -- early phase -- would you say that, Larry? -- of the earliest and greatest -- this could be one of the greatest booms ever,' Trump told the audience. 'I think it will be, actually, because the companies are so strong and they're ready to rock.''What do you think, Larry?'Kudlow agreed with Trump, prompting the president to say, 'Good, I thought you were going to say that.'Can you imagine if he didn’t? Can you imagine if he said, "No, I disagree with that?" ' Trump teased.'By the way, John Bolton is here, and we just had a big successful hit. John,' the president said.He did not ask for a standing ovation for Bolton, but the senior official received one anyway -- just as the president started to move on with his speech.'Woah,' Trump said, joining in on the clapping.'Hey John, that's pretty good. I didn't expect that. I'm a little jealous,' he said to laughter.'Are you giving him all the credit? Uh oh, you know that means the end of his job, you know,' Trump jested. The president was referring to the air strikes he launched on Syria on Friday in response to Bashar al-Assad's use of chemical weapons.'Did our generals do a great job? Did our military do a great job?' Trump asked.'And you know, with way over 100 missiles shot in, they didn't shoot one down. The equipment didn't work too well, their equipment, and they didn't shoot one,' the president bragged.Trump said that 'every single one hit its target,' slapping back at Syrian television reports that claimed more than a dozen were intercepted.'Think of that. How genius,' the president said. 'Not one was shot.'President Trump was joined at the event by his Chief of Staff John Kelly, who was all smiles as he walked from the White House to Marine One with Kudlow and Bolton prior to the trip to Florida.Kelly has faced pervasive rumors that his job is on the line.
